Explaining Mobile Integrated Healthcare for Fire and EMS (Room 3A & 3B)

This panel discussion will focus on mobile integrated healthcare and explain the current practice of pre-hospital medical care. Attendees will learn about the growing interest in integrating pre-hospital emergency resources with community healthcare partners in order to improve patient experiences and outcomes, and to positively impact the overall health of a community. The discussions will include: the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Triple Aim; the Affordable Care Act and the impact on fire and EMS; understanding mobile integrated healthcare and community paramedicine; expanding the role of paramedics; the components of a mobile integrated healthcare program; identifying the stakeholders in a mobile integrated healthcare program; funding sources; and developing your own mobile integrated healthcare program. The panelist will include individuals whose agencies are currently involved in mobile integrated healthcare and members with extensive knowledge regarding successful program development and implementation. This program may be used for EMS continuing education units.
