Leadership and Management Symposium (Day 2)
The fire service works very hard to read fire conditions, interpret special operations information, and identify what medications to give to patients. With that said, can we read our own signs of heart disease, interpret a coworker’s mental distress level, or predict our own potential for developing cancer? This program will discuss the awareness, prevention, and survivability related to firefighter safety and health threats. Using the panel format, which will include members of the Virginia fire service, healthcare professionals, and other subject matter experts; the goal of the program is to raise your awareness level and prevent future health problems such as cancer, heart disease, and mental health issues. Members of the VFCA Company Officer Section will facilitate this panel discussion, and a question and answer session will close out the program.
