Dr. Daniels has over 30 years of experience as a safety professional serving the military, private sector, and federal government. Since 2001, he serves as a health scientist at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). He began at NIOSH examining the health effects among workers exposed to ionizing radiation; however his main research interests include exposure science and cancer among working populations. He is certified by the American Board of Health Physics and has received a Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Cincinnati. He has authored several papers published in leading scientific journals. Among many ongoing research projects, he is the principal investigator of the NIOSH pooled study related to cancer in firefighters of the United States.
