Recently several technologies have matured, opening up a new way to acquire aerial data with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Equally important, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has recently implemented processes to implement the commercial use of UAS into the National Airspace. The skies are opening for many applications of UAS.
