Lon Santis

Lon Santis holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mining Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. ˜He worked a short time as a sales representative for the Ensign-Bickford Co. and then spent 12 years as a Principal Investigator and Supervisor in the Explosives Research Group of the US Bureau of Mines in Pittsburgh, PA. ˜Then he worked 15 years as the Manager of Technical Services for the Institute of Makers of Explosives. ˜At IME he managed the IMESAFR Project, Technical, Transportations and Distribution, and Security Committees. ˜In 2013 he started ERM LLC, a consulting company providing services on all aspects of risk from industrial explosives related activities. ˜Mr. Santis is the chair of the NFPA Technical Committee on Explosives, a Director of the International Society of Explosives Engineers and is involved in various capacities in many other industry groups.
