The US Defense Intelligence Enterprise faces geopolitical issues and technological advances that in their diversity and complexity demand a strong and agile defense intelligence system backbone. This is the case for all the system’s dimensions—people, process/policy, organization, and technology. In this session the leaders of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise examine these challenges and discuss strategies and programs designed to meet them.
Focus Questions:
In over a decade of combat operations what enduring defense intelligence capability—whether in terms of people, processes or technologies-- has been created that will endure for the future?
What capabilities do not yet exist that must exist to meet the challenges of the future?
How does/will the Defense Intelligence Enterprise leverage non-traditional intelligence sources and what policy and technology challenges does the use of those sources present?
