Lieutenant General Mary A. Legere has served as the Headquarters, Department of the Army's Senior Intelligence Officer since April 2012. She is the senior advisor to the Secretary of the Army and Army Chief of Staff for all aspects of Intelligence, Counterintelligence and Security, and responsible for the training, equipping, policy and oversight of the Army Intelligence Corps’ 58,000 Soldiers and civilians. LTG Legere has served for more than 30 years in positions of leadership and intelligence and has commanded at all levels, from Company, Battalion and Brigade Command and as the Commanding General, U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, responsible for directing and orchestrating complex intelligence globally. She also has served as the senior U.S. Intelligence Officer for United States Forces Korea and for Multi-National Force-Iraq and has participated in OPERATION JOINT FORGE and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire and Masters degrees from both the Command and General Staff College and the Army War College.
