Jackie McClaskey, PhD, secretary of agriculture for the state of Kansas, provides insights about where pet food fits into the landscape for state and local government. Using her state and department as examples, she explains how state and municipal governments can work with and support pet food businesses, and how the pet food industry can serve as a model for other state-industry initiatives.
