The rise of intermittent generation has brought a renewed focus to pumped storage in North America. In the international arena, several new projects are being developed. Owners are looking for innovative approaches that will help ensure the success of their projects. We will explore modular PS and the conversion of conventional hydro plants to PS. The panel will also discuss upgrades to current plants and the introduction of variable speed technology to existing facilities.
