Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems 50Hz Gas Turbine Update (Room G102-G103, Auditorium Centre, First Floor)

Mitsubishi Hitachi Power System 50Hz offerings have completed important keystone events in the last few months. Levering the J series experience from twelve 60H M501J units currently in commercial operation, two of the 50Hz counterpart (M701J) have been manufactured for a combined cycle plant in Japan. The first unit completed a rigorous shop test and has been shipped to site. The latest 50 Hz F upgrade, the M701F5, featuring 1,500 degree C Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT) for 525 MW in a 1:1 combined cycle configuration has also completed manufacturing and has been shipped for another combined cycle plant in Japan. The higher temperature is being successfully applied to an F class engine for the first time by incorporating J technology to the preceding F upgrade called M701F4.The structural features and robust compressor of this successful F4 upgrade are retained in the F5. This paper presents and update of the above mentioned 50 Hz gas turbine offerings as well as the results of the shop tests.
