This presentation will provide a broad overview of the accounting, auditing, and inspector general disciplines. Similarities and differences between accountants, internal auditors, external auditors, and inspectors general will be discussed. Finally, case examples will be provided to describe the unique role inspectors general perform in promoting efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability in government.
