Compliance 20/20 - An Innovative Approach to Patient Adherence Monitoring (Room C201)

PAP adherence monitoring (compliance) is a principal element for improving the patient therapy experience. Additionally, insurance carriers require documentation that establishes PAP adherence for continued device and supply coverage. Often compliance monitoring is committed to monitoring hours of use alone. While necessary for supporting continued coverage of supplies and equipment, hours of use alone do not provide the clinician a visible representation of the patient's experiences with therapy (i.e., leak, apnea, and hypopnea events). Monitoring clinical indications of therapy is essential for increasing the immediate and long-term adoption of PAP therapy and enhancing the patient's therapy experience. The panelists will explain how Medical Service Company redesigned its PAP adherence program to improve patient communication, engagement, and compliance results through monitoring and acting upon the clinical indications of leaks, apnea, and hypopnea events.
