HD mold 2021 – Update (Room 208 A)

HD mold was one of the original fiber optic-based continuous caster mold temperature measuring systems introduced to the North American steel industry several years ago. As the installed base for HD mold has increased in North America, much has been learned to improve the system's reliability and better understand the capabilities of this product. Specifics related to data collection and its potential uses will be presented. Other topics of discussion will include advancements related to hardware, software and manufacturing that have opened doors to allow for greater measuring density.
