Automatic Pilot For Strip Processing Lines (Room Virtual)

Today management of galvanizing lines is generally based on manual presets or individual models for each process without comprehensive optimization of quality and productivity. Fives developed a process control solution using predictive metallurgical models combining physical laws, artificial intelligence and machine learning to automatically control key processes in a galvanizing line, aiming at reaching best compromise between quality yield, productivity and operational flexibility. The solution integrates incoming material properties, on-line measurements and final product quality targets, adjusts parameters of key process sections accordingly (furnace, zinc bath, wiping, skinpass) and optimizes transitions. Results from a recent case study will be highlighted.
