Recovering Fines in Direct Reduction Plants (Room Virtual)

Direct reduction fines are commonly generated from iron oxide screening and gas dedusting systems. Usually, these must be handled, transported, and sold or disposed, generating loss of profit for plant owners. A system to recover and transform these residuals into a valuable product was successfully developed. Results of the tests done at the Danieli Research & Development Center prove that the equipment, recipe and methodology developed make it possible to produce briquettes with optimal physical and chemical properties that can be recycled in the electric arc furnace. This circular economy application to steelmaking enables creating value from wastes while improving the overall yield.
