This paper focuses on changes in the steel construction field due to the need for greener solutions calling for the necessity to improve air quality in large cities. Some effective examples of steel utilization for environmental purpose examination include: wide shelters to cover raw material stockyards, shipyards and metal foundries; high-capacity tanks on board for liquefied natural gas-fueled ships; wind farms with tower structures and silicon steel laminations; and lifting and transporting platforms for shipyards.
