One of the most widely used techniques for non-metallic inclusion analysis is scanning electron microscopy along with energy-dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS). The compositional quantification and grayscale values (GSV) are some of the features measured in SEM/EDS analysis. This study utilizes regression models to predict the GSV of an inclusion from its composition. Discrepancies between predicted and measured GSVs can help identify false positives or erroneous readings due to contaminants or improper filtering, providing an automated quality control tool on inclusion SEM analysis.
