Innovating Solutions for No-Touch Lifting for Common Down Day Tasks (Room 207 B)

Most lines were not designed to be maintained under the No-Touch Lifting principle. Items like squeegee rolls and floor plates are almost always moved via the crane and can be difficult and/or time-consuming to do without handling the load. This paper will outline two designs at Nucor Steel-Indiana that made jobs (replacing squeeze rolls on the pickler and moving floor plates for a backup change on the cold mill) easier and safer.
