The paper investigates the difference between addition of the Mn-Si deoxidation alloys and fluxes during tapping from the furnace and after tap (open tapping). The evolution of inclusion composition and oxygen activity for these different approaches is discussed with the aid of automated inclusion analysis by scanning electron microscopy.
