This program will delve deep into several, project-specific mega-projects, including airport, vertical construction, and heavy/highway projects that were on the path of smoldering problems and then with careful negotiations, and teamwork, avoided the disaster and potential to turn to ashes.  The panel will discuss specific lessons learned on domestic and international projects that they are intimately familiar with.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the critical risk sharing negotiations that took place when the project/contract was entered into, how the parties share in the risks and rewards, and how did these early negotiations impact the project outcomes.
  • Understand 5-8 key contract and risk sharing issues that the panel believes altered the path of their projects.  The audience will be given every opportunity to ask the panel questions, both from and owners and constructors perspective, what where the most critical issues.
  • Take-away negotiating and implementing ideas to your next mega-project, lessons learned from design/build, P3 and build/own/operate projects.  This objective will bestow upon the audience some actual project details with the potential of readying the industry of what is hopefully a new massive infrastructure undertaking in the U.S.
