Tracks: Federal Identity Forum, Track A1 - Identity Fundamentals
The federal government spends a lot of money on high-assurance digital identities with employees and contractors at federal agencies undergoing extensive identity vetting, which ends in them receiving a credential they can use to access secure networks. On the consumer side of the equation it’s a bit more complicated. NIST’s Trusted Identities Group works to facilitate the development of these solutions and their adoption in both the private and public marketplaces. The session will look at the economics behind high-assurance digital identities and why it makes sense to dedicate resources to advancing this mission for consumers.
