The discussion of this paper focuses on using renewable fuels to enable high efficiency combined heat and power generation at small scales. Several application of clean fuel technologies will be discussed with emphasis on the application of different types of biogas and clean burning natural gas. The highly distributed generation concept along with the highly efficient utilization of renewable fuels leads to the possibility of enhancement of grid stability and overall project payback with avoidance of methane green house gas release. Real project examples and statistics will be presented.
