While there is much desire and benefits to behold in addressing the needs of high volume manufacturing in advanced process nodes (e.g., 10 nm, 7 nm), there remains a strong market that relies on legacy equipment in meeting the demands of today.
For example, IoT encompasses a wide variety of applications and growth sectors such as Smartphone (Mobile), Healthcare, Wearables, Automotive, Industrial, Security, etc. Many of the devices needed for these applications are not state-of-the-art technology. In most cases, the manufacturing technology has been around since the 1990’s or earlier.
This session explores the ever increasing demand for 200 mm fabs and the challenges facing secondary equipment suppliers. Presentations will shed some light on strategic and disruptive ideas as well as a glimpse of what the equipment landscape will be in the next decade.
