Karen is a Senior Procurement Specialist/Supply Chain Analyst at Texas Instruments in the Wafer Fab Procurement Organization. Karen earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ceramic Engineering from Rutgers College of Engineering and began her career in ceramic packaging at IBM Fishkill in 1989. Karen has been with Texas Instruments for 23 years, spending the first 8 years as a process engineer in the Plasma and Thin Films Modules. In 2001, Karen transitioned to the procurement organization as a capital buyer on the wafer fab procurement team. Her strong technical knowledge has enabled her to expand her current role to encompass a deep understanding of the new and used equipment markets for front end equipment, and she has become a key resource across TI worldwide to match best tool options to rapidly changing demand and mix requirements. Karen was an integral member of the team that evaluated, negotiated, purchased, and relocated the equipment for the industry’s first 300mm Analog Factory (RFAB). She remains actively involved with the planning, finance, and manufacturing organizations on strategic decisions to invest in current and long term equipment demand.
