Steam Generator, Piping, Turbine: Recent Failure Types Regarding the Flexibility and What is the Best Material Selection for the Future (Room G104, Auditorium Centre, First Floor)

In the last four years the impact of the renewable on the energy increases dramatically. The effect of the fossil fired power plants is much more than it was expected. The prediction of several focal points was proved but also additional failure cases were found. In the presentation the influence of different materials, construction, load behavior is discussed. In addition a method is presented which describes the impact of one part with the understanding of process engineering to give a close link to the overall process of the power plant. Several actual damages will be discussed. At least, R&D-trends of the material development will be described and a critical reflection with a practical point of view will be done.
