Jack Byers is a Tribal member of the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel. Jack grew up on the reservation and attended Julian High School. Jack was employed with Food 4 Less as a produce clerk, and was soon promoted to the position of Produce Manager. Mr. Byers accepted a position with the newly opened Santa Ysabel Casino as a slot attendant. Jack was quickly promoted through the ranks where he eventually settled in the role of Slots Manager. After the Santa Ysabel Casino closed in February 2014, Mr. Byers continued applying his management skills as the Manager of IND Services, an online lending company owned by the Santa Ysabel Tribe and operated from the Nation’s lands. Mr. Byers recently accepted an appointment as Compliance Manager for the Santa Ysabel Tribal Cannabis Regulatory Agency, where he oversees regulatory compliance of non-tribal cannabis operators working at the Santa Ysabel Botanical Facility, as well as their compliance with Tribal and State law, and federal guidelines related to cannabis operations conducted from Tribal lands.
