EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, Minor in Packaging Science California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, 2001 SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE: Cameron Burkel has more than nine years of experience in Occupational Safety and Health Management, and more than 350 hours of Emergency Preparedness, Security, and Counter Terrorism Training. Cameron is currently employed by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority's Aviation Security & Public Safety Department. Within the Department, Cameron is responsible for assisting with the writing and implementation of the Airport Federal Aviation Regulation Part 139 (Airport Certification), Airport Emergency Program, and the Part 1542 Airport Security Program. Cameron also acts as an Airport Security Coordinator, where he is responsible for regulatory compliance of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Directives. He has been instrumental in assisting with and facilitation of multiple Emergency Preparedness and Security Table Top Exercises as well as Full Field Functional Exercises. Cameron is the Regional Communications System (RCS) Coordinator for the Airport and is responsible for all training, administration, and public radio needs for the Airport Authority. Cameron has stated that he believes that training initiatives and constant improvement are critical to the growth and development of a successful organizational work force. He currently conducts annual recurrent training for the Airport Authority in the fields of Emergency Management and Aviation Security. Cameron has been providing Active Shooter Training since 2011, and has successfully provided training for over 350 Airport Authority employees and consultants, including numerous companies throughout Southern California and the Inland Empire.
