As Principal and Practice Leader of HBG Design (formerly known as Hnedak Bobo Group), Rick Gardner, AIA, is an accomplished project and business leader in the firm’s nationally recognized entertainment and hospitality design specialization. For over 32 years, Rick has successfully directed complex teams from predesign through client occupancy on an array of technically challenging and programmatically intricate projects from coast to coast. Rick is especially passionate about developing relationships with clients, seeking to understand the clients’ business and strategic vision, then optimize his clients’ operations and functionality through innovations in design. Rick continually strives to produce work that adds distinction and meaning to the built environment at a consistently high level of quality. Some of Rick’s most notable projects include the ALIS 2005 Development of the Year, $500 Million Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center located in Dallas, Texas; the award-winning Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, Michigan; and the four-diamond-rated Northern Quest Resort and Casino in Spokane, Washington. He is currently leading Indian gaming and hospitality projects across the country from New York to Oklahoma to Southern California.
