Anthony Wheeler is a Senior Compliance Officer at the Oklahoma City Region office of the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC). Before joining NIGC in 2007, Wheeler spent 17 years in law enforcement including stints as Investigator and Police Chief for the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. Wheeler also worked for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe in Connecticut as a patrolman. Wheeler investigated criminal activity at casinos and later became involved in game protection, serving as surveillance manager at Sac & Fox and Osage Nation Casinos in Oklahoma. Wheeler attended Seminole State College and is a graduate of the BIA Indian Police Academy, Federal Criminal Investigator Academy, FBI National Academy and is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
