Boyd is a Vice President at Valley View Casino & Hotel, a popular casino located approximately 30 miles north of San Diego, in Valley Center California. Valley View Casino & Hotel is a full service, twenty-four hour casino property that features 2000 slot machines, 24 Table Games, 6 restaurants and 108 hotel rooms. Between 6000 and 9000 guests visit Valley View Casino & Hotel every day. Boyd was selected as the Vice President of Security and Transportation in January 2013. His responsibilities include providing executive policy direction property wide and oversight for the safety and security of nearly three million guests each year, including nearly one thousand team members. Additionally, Boyd is responsible for liaison to the tribal gaming representatives as well as federal, state, and local law enforcement authorities related to operations at Valley View Casino & Hotel. Prior to Boyd’s position at Valley View Casino & Hotel, Boyd spent the previous 28 years with the City of San Diego Police Department. Rising through the ranks of the SDPD, Boyd was appointed Assistant Chief of Police in January 2008. In that position, Boyd was responsible for Patrol Operations, providing law enforcement services for the 1.3 million residents within the City of San Diego. Patrol Operations included nine patrol divisions, which provided police service to the entire City of San Diego. When combined, Patrol Operations included over 1200 patrol officers, detectives, supervisory staff, civilian staff and volunteers.
