Greg Hnedak is the Founder and CEO of DreamCatcher Hotels, a pioneering turnkey hotel development company. At the height of the 2008 economic recession, Greg launched DreamCatcher Hotels with a vision to challenge the norms of the industry and proactively help his clients get building again. He and his team set out to deliver the highest perceived value to the hotel guest while providing the lowest development cost per key to the owner. Since its inception in 2009, DreamCatcher Hotels has over 2,000 rooms completed or in development. DreamCatcher Hotels is an outgrowth of Hnedak Bobo Group, an architecture firm Greg and partner Kirk Bobo started in 1979. Greg has spent his 40+ year career designing and developing branded hotels for many national hospitality brands, including Hilton, Holiday Inn, Homewood Suites, and Gaylord Hotels. Greg is a development partner on properties ranging from office buildings to loft condominiums to his ownership in the Westin Memphis Beale Street Hotel, which opened in 2007 in the heart of Memphis’ famous Beale Street Entertainment District. In Hnedak’s years as an architect, overseeing the development of dozens of major hotel and casino projects, he was often a critic of an industry shift away from bidding projects to the development of the GMP concept. Having seen the problems this method has caused since its first inception, Mr. Hnedak has made it his mission to educate owners on GMPs and help them avoid those pitfalls.
