Eric M. Lippold serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), where he leads the agency’s financial policy development, accounting systems management, and financial reporting. Appointed in December 2024, he plays a critical role in aligning FSIS’s financial strategy with its mission to prevent foodborne illness, transform inspection strategies, and achieve operational excellence. With over 20 years of federal service, Mr. Lippold brings deep expertise in financial management and organizational leadership. Prior to FSIS, he held senior financial roles at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service, among others. Mr. Lippold holds an MBA from the University of North Texas and a bachelor’s degree in business management from LeTourneau University. He is a Certified Government Financial Manager and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
