Pedro Maldonado serves as the Director of the Office of Financial Management within the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), U.S. Department of Transportation. In this role, he oversees agency-wide financial policy, GAO and OIG audit liaison activities, and A-123 internal control functions. Previously, Mr. Maldonado served as the Acting Section Chief of the Internal Control Review Program within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer at the Internal Revenue Service, where he led independent reviews and evaluations of service-wide programs and key financial transactions. He brings over 20 years of federal service experience, with the last decade spent in Washington, DC. Mr. Maldonado is a U.S. Army veteran who served as a 19D Cavalry Scout and was awarded the Purple Heart following a deployment to Iraq in 2008. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in International Administration from the University of Miami, and he is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Global Security at American Military University.
