Chad Mendes is a retired American mixed martial artist, UFC featherweight champion title contender and lifelong hunter. Chad was an elite Division 1 wrestler before MMA, competing at Cal Poly and earning NCAA All-American honors twice. He transitioned to MMA in 2008 and quickly became known for his explosive wrestling, power striking, and athleticism. In the UFC, Mendes established himself as one of the top featherweights of his era. He challenged Jose Aldo twice for the UFC Featherweight Championship and later fought Connor McGreggor for the interim title on short notice in 2015. Notable wins include victories over Ricardo Lamas, Clay Guida, Darren Elkins and Cody McKenzie. After retiring from MMA, Chad shifted focus to hunting, outdoor sports and business, becoming highly respected and successful in both arenas. Chad pours his lifeline passion for hunting and fishing into his hunting and fishing guide service, Finz & Featherz Guide Service, and his YouTube channel where he shares films of his hunting and fishing adventures from across the country.
