Dr. Andrew B. Williams serves as Dean of Engineering and Louis S. LeTellier Chair at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, where he also serves as Acting Director of the Center for AI, Algorithmic Integrity, and Autonomy Innovation (AI3). Under his leadership, The Citadel's engineering program has risen to #14 nationally among non-doctoral institutions (U.S. News & World Report), and he has led efforts securing over $80 million for a new state-of-the-art engineering facility. Dr. Williams holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Kansas and has authored over 100 publications and invited presentations in autonomous agents and multi-agent systems, humanoid robotics, and human-robot interaction. He is one of ten inaugural Amazon Web Services Education Champions and serves on the AWS Machine Learning University Advisory Board. His research in humanoid robotics and trusted AI systems spans two decades, including NSF-funded initiatives advancing AI education and workforce development. A recognized thought leader in AI policy, Dr. Williams testified before the South Carolina House Committee on AI, Cybersecurity, and Cyber Crimes regarding workforce impacts. He was named to Business Insider's Cloudverse 100 as a leader shaping the next generation of technology.
