Vice Admiral McAllister served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 36 years. His culminating flag assignment was as Commander of the Coast Guard’s Pacific Area where he oversaw all U.S. Coast Guard operations from the U.S. West Coast to the Indo-Pacific region and both the U.S. Arctic and Antarctic. He previously served as the Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Commander of the Seventeenth Coast Guard District in Alaska; Deputy Director of Operations for United States Northern Command; and as the Director for Coast Guard Enterprise Strategy and Management. Before becoming a flag officer, Vice Admiral McAllister served in a variety of operational and support assignments, including command positions both afloat and ashore and at every grade level. He graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy, and holds Masters degrees from the University of Illinois and MIT. Vice Admiral McAllister now lives in the Charleston, SC area and is active in the community, particularly supporting military members and their families. He is the president and owner of Banner Consulting LLC, providing professional advisory services on a wide range on national and homeland security, federal procurement, logistics, talent management, and both U.S. and international maritime safety and security issues.
