Colonel Jason Parker is the Commander, 628th Air Base Wing and Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. He leads the Wing in providing installation and mission support to over 74 DoD and Federal agency partners, serving a total force of over 132,000 Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, civilians, dependents, and retirees. The installation contributes $10.9 billion to the local economy, and the Wing also provides mission-ready expeditionary Airmen to Combatant Commanders worldwide. As Commander, Colonel Parker is responsible for $7.5 billion in base property and capital assets and manages an annual budget exceeding $172 million. Colonel Parker enlisted in the Air Force in 1993 and commissioned in 2003 as a distinguished graduate of Officer Training School. Throughout his career as a communications and cyberspace warfare officer, he has served in a variety of positions at the squadron, group, wing, agency, joint task force, numbered air force, major command, combatant command, and Joint Staff levels. He has directly supported Operations NOBLE EAGLE, JOINT GUARD, JOINT FORGE, ALLIED FORCE, ENDURING FREEDOM, ODYSSEY DAWN and NEW DAWN. His experience includes installation support, C4/cyber planning, force development, network operations, contingency response, expeditionary communications, information operations, and command & control operations. Prior to his current position, Colonel Parker commanded the 6th Mission Support Group at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. He holds a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College, a Master of Arts in Defense & Strategic Studies from the College of Naval Command & Staff, and a Master of Arts in Computer Resources & Information Management from Webster University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems Management from Colorado Christian University and an Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.
