Throughout his career in broadcasting, Dean built deep connections across the Lowcountry—sharing stories of triumph, resilience, and community spirit that continue to shape his life and work today. Following his time in television, Dean shifted his focus from the newsroom to nonprofit leadership, joining WakeUp Carolina as Director of Development. Based in Mount Pleasant, SC. with a second location in Moncks Corner, SC. WakeUp Carolin provides support, education, and resources for individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use. Dean’s work centers on fostering impactful partnerships, expanding awareness, and securing the resources essential to fulfilling the organization’s mission—honoring a promise to a young man lost to an overdose… That no person, no family will ever have to take this walk alone.
