Andrea Wright leads the department’s financial operations totaling over $144M operating, capital project funds, as well as administrative & HR processes. Andrea has been with CFW for 13 years. Andrea has a vast knowledge and understanding of municipal finance and venue management. She has over 30 years of proficiency in identifying and analyzing trends, while being an objective leader with demonstrated success. Andrea was elected to the Pontiac General Employee Retirement System (GERS) in 2006; and was re-elected in 2008 and 2010. Andrea served with integrity and diligence. During Andrea’s time on the pension board, the funds’ assets grew from $401M to over $500M. Andrea was elected to the Fort Worth Employees Retirement Fund in 2018; re-elected in 2020, 2022 and 2024. 2022-2023, she was elected Vice Chair of the Board, becoming the first African American in this role. She is the Chair of the Audit & Budget committee & a member of the Disability & Communications committees. Andrea participates with the Employee HLO & MLK & Juneteenth committees. She is an active member of the National Forum of Black Public Administrators. Andrea completed Venue Management School in 2022 and was elected Treasurer of IAVM Region 6 in 2022, where she still serves. She received her CVP designation in 2024 and volunteers on the DILC committee. Andrea is an avid sports fan and cheers for her hometown teams in Cleveland, OH. Andrea earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Kent State University & a Master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. She is a life member of Kent States alumni association & active in both Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter) and Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. – a National Business and Professional Sorority. Andrea has 2 young adult children & 1 grandson
