Dr. Christine (Chris) Michienzi is a former senior government executive with extensive national and international leadership experience in defense industrial base security and global supply chain resilience. She managed senior-level DoD programs equivalent to a Fortune 500 portfolio, leading thousands of personnel and executing multi-billion-dollar investments in critical defense capabilities. She has briefed top U.S. leaders, including the President, Secretary of Defense, and Members of Congress. She is now CEO of MMR Defense Solutions, LLC, a consulting firm that helps companies solve supply chain and technical challenges through strategic, policy, and investment approaches. Previously, Dr. Michienzi was the Senior Technology Advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (USD A&S) and held roles including Chief Technology Officer and Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP). She led key initiatives to strengthen industrial capacity—especially for munitions and missile systems—supporting efforts to replenish U.S. stockpiles following donations to Ukraine and enhancing preparedness for Taiwan and other national security needs. Her expertise includes missiles, hypersonics, nuclear and space systems, microelectronics, and critical chemicals. She was instrumental in integrating national security priorities into the CHIPS Act, collaborating with Congress and the Department of Commerce. She began her DoD career with the U.S. Navy, where she led research in explosives and propellants, earning five patents and major honors, including NAVSEA Scientist of the Year and ASN RDA Scientist of the Year. Dr. Michienzi earned a B.S. and Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her awards include the Secretary of Defense Medals for Exceptional and Civilian Career Service.
