Rich Appel serves as the superintendent of Horicon School District. Appel has served on multiple boards including AWSA (past president), National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) state rep., Horicon's Lion’s Club, Chamber of Commerce and is the current Wisconsin School Music Association President. He was selected as the 2014 Wisconsin State Middle School Principal of the Year.
