Derek McCoy is an accomplished educator and school administrator. His focus is on improving student learning and achievement, increasing teaching efficacy, and creating a learning environment that will prepare students for their future. His approach involves uses the best learning/instructional design strategies, innovative instructional practices and developing and implementing relevant, student-centered, and flexible learning practices.He brings a wide range of experiences as a middle school math teacher, assistant principal, instructional coach and principal. Currently he is the Director of Learning and Innovation in his district. He was named as a 2014 Digital Principal of the Year by NASSP and has recently co-authored 'The Revolution: Its Time to Empower Change in our Schools.'
