Always looking for the next "big idea" for student engagement, Derek prides himself on taking the stigma out of teacher-led instruction. Currently a Personalized Learning Leader with Volusia County Schools, he uses his 15+ year classroom and media experience to bring engagement to the most uninteresting of topics. Prior to his current role, he served as a secondary social studies teacher, and media specialist which contributes to his enthusiasm for using technology to breathe life into the classroom experience.
