Bruce Umpstead is the director of statewide engagement at IMS Global Learning Consortium, where he drives growth in statewide membership in IMS Global and the adoption of the CASE Network of Academic Standards & Workforce Competencies. He is passionate about scaling educational data interoperability, building equity into digital learning ecosystems, and empowering next-generation transcripts using digital credentials. He advises edtech startups with strategies developed over a lifelong career in corporate eLearning, higher education, K-12, and nonprofit association management in his spare time. He may be the biggest “Sparty" in his network— holding a B.A. and M.B.A. from Michigan State University.
