John Winer is the Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Seavest Healthcare Properties, LLC. He has multi-faceted responsibilities directing the acquisition and asset management groups. Prior to joining Seavest, Mr. Winer was a Partner at Ernst & Young LLP where he directed the Real Estate Capital Markets Advisory group and Ernst & Young's Healthcare Real Estate Advisory practice and chaired the firm's real estate capital markets commitment committee. Previously, Mr. Winer was a Managing Director and Partner of The Harlan Company, Inc., a real estate advisory and investment-banking firm, and was employed by Chemical Bank and Bear Stearns & Co., Inc. where he specialized in providing tax-exempt financing. Mr. Winer is a frequent speaker at healthcare real estate industry events including seminars sponsored by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Legg Mason, and Columbia University. He chaired the BOMA Medical Office and Healthcare Facilities Conference in 2007 and 2008 and continues to sit on the executive committee for the conference. He also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the trade publication Healthcare Real Estate Insights. Mr. Winer is also a founding member of the Urban Land Institute’s Health Care and Life Sciences Council. He led the effort by Seavest in conjunction with ULI to publish the white paper Outlook for Healthcare by Gary Shilling. Mr. Winer's academic credentials include an M.B.A. from New York University and a B.B.A. from George Washington University. He is a member of BOMA, the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and ULI, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in New York.
