Koorosh Olyai, PE, is a Senior Principal with Stantec Consulting Services for Advanced Transportation Management Systems. He has over 38 years of experience in the public and private sectors developing, implementing, operating and managing highway and public transportation facilities, including traffic engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Prior to Stantec, he was Assistant Vice president for Planning and Development with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) where he co-led the development of multi-modal transportation system plans and implemented over 84 miles of Managed HOV lanes throughout the Dallas area. He has also served as Traffic and City Engineer for the Cities of Plano and Denton, Texas. A Licensed Professional Engineer, he is a graduate of the University of Minnesota in Civil Engineering. He is a designated US Expert in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Chairman of the US Technical Advisory Group (US TAG), Head of US Delegation (HOD) and Convener of Working Group for Public Transportation and Emergency Management to the International Standards Organization (ISO) for Intelligent Transportation Systems.
