W078$ | Research in Practice: SAMR, Observation, Analysis, and Action (Room Lincoln Road D)

Many possible roads lead from the introduction of new technologies to learning transformation -- but how do we draft these paths and redesign them for the greatest impact over time? Join us in this hands-on workshop, as we see how to determine the SAMR level of teaching practices, and their interconnection and evolution over time. We will use a broad range of methods, from classroom observation to drawing studies, to accomplish this task. We will also develop qualitative and quantitative approaches that can scaffold rich action research driven by learner needs and goals. Finally, we will examine ways in which individual classroom research projects can come together to define an evolving schoolwide community of practice.
