Digital equity in schools is becoming a challenging topic for administrators. Oftentimes, funding, or the lack thereof, plays a major part with making certain all students have access to technology. But is this really digital equity? Can we pursue digital equity without funding? Should digital equity only be a school concern? In this session, let us discuss digital equity, and how we can begin closing this equity gap, inside and outside the classroom. Listen to stories and ideas from several school leaders, afterschool groups, and community leaders on different methods of tackling digital equity. Discussions include using free tools to establish STEM and coding programs, community involvement with BYOD, and Wi-Fi initiatives.
