W207$ | Autism and Technology: Different for Girls? (Room 212-213)

16 Jan 20
10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Tracks: Future of EdTech Assistive Technology & Special Ed

This session will explore the role of technology in the education, leisure, and lives of students with autism. From allowing us greater understanding of their views of the world and thus the ability to better structure our work, to functional outcomes such as giving a student considered non-verbal a voice — we will look at a wide range of ways to deploy technology sensitively, creatively, and effectively. Working in partnership with parents and caregivers, and recent work on the differing profile and needs of girls with autism will be additional themes of the session.
