C045 | Miami-Dade's Aspiring Teachers Introduce Robotics and Coding to Preschoolers (Room 206)

Hialeah Gardens High School in Miami-Dade County offers career-oriented education to their students, including an on-site childcare center at the school. This center provides a practicum learning environment for students within the early childhood education program, where they work in the daycare center, planning and delivering curriculum and activities. KIBO is at the heart of the center's STEAM education program; the high school students facilitate robotics and programming activities for the young students. Aspiring teachers learn how to integrate coding and robotics into the curriculum, while the preschool students have the opportunity to learn and create with robots. We’ll share this model and the success we have seen with both the student teachers and preschoolers.
